This parody was created by artist Howard Hallis, who took a Chick tract entitled The Choice and gave it a brilliant Lovecraftian twist. Hallis was threatened with legal action from Chick Publications in 2004 and took the offending material down. Fortunately, nothing is lost forever on Nobel Prize winner Al Gore’s internet. I found this copy on the Purple Monkey Mafia website (Eris bless ’em).

Jack wouldn’t enjoy this parody. According to an article by William Schnoebelen at http://www.chick.com/articles/frpg.asp, the Cthulhu mythos is real! “For example, there is now a whole line of materials based on the hellish H.P. Lovecraft Cthulhu mythos, a form of magic that we practiced in the darkest days of our satanic career – a system of magic prominently featured in THE SATANIC RITUALS by Anton LaVey! Contrary to the ramblings of D&D defenders like Michael Stackpole, the Necronomicon and the Cthulhu mythos are quite real.”

I’ve always been a huge Jack Chick fan. When I’m in large venues, such as Mardi Gras in New Orleans, I scour the streets for his booklets.
You can almost always find fundamentalist adherents at such places, too. They will almost always talk to you, because, after all, they are there to chide any and all present.
These summaries are great, although it really is hard to improve on the originals material.

I don’t understand why these keep getting taken down. Parody is a protected art form.
